How accountability shows up - when you least expect it!

This month began on a high note! I quickly realized I had reclaimed a significant amount of time and had a clear schedule that I intentionally kept uncluttered. My focus was sharpened through a couple of calls with my accountability Trio (pictured), setting solid targets for the month ahead. Then, unexpectedly, a virus hit.

I wasn't the only one affected by this virus; others had it worse, uncovering additional health issues. For me, it meant accepting being bed-bound for a weekend and being at peace with that. Despite my targets, prioritizing self-kindness was essential.

The abundance of time this month remains, but I needed the energy, which was depleted for the first two weeks. Financially, my expenses have been minimal, oddly benefiting that aspect of my portfolio.

A month ago, some family members visited unexpectedly while I was in the middle of a project. We discussed my work, and when they returned last week, they inquired about my progress. This is a prime example of accountability—verbalizing goals makes them tangible. While I acknowledged being out of action for a couple of weeks, being asked the question prompted reflection on whether I had taken any real steps toward that goal in the preceding month.

Moreover, the accountability Trio has evolved into a WhatsApp Group—yes, surprising even to me. This change alleviates the pressure of scheduling calls. While the calls remain crucial and must occur monthly, the flexibility of weekly updates or sharing achievements and setbacks keeps us accountable and reflective.

I'm not on track to complete everything I set out to do this month, but I firmly believe in listening to one's body, especially as a woman. Nonetheless, I've made incremental progress and can clearly visualize the month ahead. That is undoubtedly a victory.
